A whole lot of London sightseeing

It’s been a busy week for me, with trips to Salisbury and London (3 times), meetings, and also a digital innovation event.

In my most recent poll, the most requested blog topic was sightseeing in London, and you’d never guess what? 3 days in London meant I’ve been able to visit some very well-known sites, a new attraction overlooking the O2 arena and my new favourite restaurant.  Warning: Your mouth might water.

It all started on Monday with reassuring myself of trusting my bearings and re-visited Westminster and Buckingham Palace. Even though I was only here a few days before, it’s nice to go over your tracks, as with different people, different memories are created.

Memories were certainly created when a trip to the Emirates Airline came about. I’m not exactly comfortable with heights, but fears are meant to be conquered and despite the shaky start, the views were to die for. I’ve never been to the O2 before, so the experience of being 295ft in the air, certainly made my first visit memorable.

Just around the corner of the O2, a quick trip to the Excel London and the Yacht Hotel, showcased the real excitement of London. It doesn’t matter where you are, there’s always something to see just around the corner.

This was the case when walking along Oxford Street towards Tottenham Court Road for a visit to Shakeshack. Shakeshack has always been recommended by fellow bloggers and vloggers, so it was worth a visit, and boy was I wowed by the outcome. Unsure of what to have, a special ‘Aberdeen Angus Bacon Cheeseburger’ (I’m sure it had a different name?!) was suggested. I went for the double and it wasn’t just the burger that made my mouth water. The cheese dip was to die for and I would honestly recommend the restaurant if you’re in London. Not only down to the taste of the food, but the exceptional customer service too.

Customer focus came about on Thursday too with an inspirational evening with The Youth Funding Network and O2 Think Big. With the evening listening to upcoming digital innovators, it’s a blog post not to be missed.

Then Friday happened and wow a lot of attractions were visited. The one thing you might notice when I visit London is I try to get to as many places as possible.

If you don’t know, I’m a BIG Harry Potter fan. Visiting the studios has always been a goal of mine and after recently finding out about a shop at Kings Cross, I would have been mad not to visit Platform 9 3/4.

With a few museums being on the same tube line as Kings Cross, the rest of my day was spent at the Natural History Museum  and the Science Museum.

I’m going to let the pictures do the talking today, otherwise this would be a very long blog post, but I hope you’ve enjoyed finding how what I’ve been up to and how beautiful is the Royal Albert Hall at night?
