Today, I’m sharing with you 5 individuals I believe are incredible people, whom are making a difference in the blogging world.
It’s the start of ‘Community Champions’, a weekly recognition I’m hosting to let people know their acts of kindness, whether big or small are being noticed.
We don’t recognise individuals in the digital world that often, and I want this new series to let people know that they’re truly amazing.
Here are my Community Champions this week and why…
My name is Jordanne, I am a 20 something Mother who lives to write her thoughts and opinions for the world to see. I take pride in my blog and never imagined I would be where I am now, starting out, my writing skills were nowhere near where they are now and nor was my photography. My blog, thelifeofaglasgowgirl.co.uk has really helped me develop my skills and apply them to my career. My blog is primarily a Lifestyle blog and I cover an array of topics such as Beauty, Parenting, Real Life, Fashion, Food and more! It’s my safe haven where I can just be me.
Reasons why Jordanne is my hero; Jordanne to me is the definition of a friend. Her warm, supportive personality shines the light around the blogging world, bringing a smile to my face every time we chat. She’s the Founder of Bloggers Tribe and is part of the GRL POWR team and my hat goes off to her for what she does. Jordanne, you’re an inspiration to us all!
I’m Melissa, a social media executive living in sunny Bournemouth, UK. I run a blog called Geek Magnifique which focuses on mental health, including general advice, as well as my own experiences. I’m very active on Twitter, taking part in several mental health chats with the aim of being someone that others can reach out to if they’re struggling.
Reasons why Mel is my hero; Mel, wow! What an incredible person! Mel’s dedication to the mental health community inspires me to grow JRTV! Her stunning smile matches her personality, with her voice constantly growing. You’re helping so many people Mel, you should be proud!
I’m also a history student at Swansea University (Prifysgol Abertawe) and love both reading and exercise. Most of the time is spent in the gym or reading, and I’m a black belt in ITF TaeKwon-Do.
My blog mostly focusses on mental health, and what can be done to help improve it, as well as stigmas and how to beat them, but I also have posted some of my fiction writing.
Reasons why Connor is my hero; Connor has only been in the blogging community for a short time, but he’s already made a BIG impact. One of the most laid-back, friendly, and supportive individuals in the blogging community and someone I feel lucky to say is a friend. Connor, never change! You’re amazing as you are and the longer you’re in the community, the more people will see this!
Hello there, I’m Amie from thecurvaceousvegan.com, I’ve struggled with mental health for a long time now, however it was at its worst just before I started my blog. Words can’t describe how much it has helped me, not only has it given me a voice by made me see that I’m not alone in my struggle. I blog all about fitness, food, veganism, beauty, lifestyle, occasional addition of sarcasm and a few posts gushing about the amount of love I have for my husband, I’m a sop.
Reasons why Amie is my hero; Every time we chat, Amie brings a smile to my face. She uses her mental health story to let others know it’s okay to have down days and it’s ok to reach out to others, and since we’ve connected, I feel a strong friendship has blossomed. You might not know this Amie, but you’re one of my biggest inspirations in the blogging world and all the support you give to others hasn’t gone unnoticed. Baldilocks thanks you for being you.
I’m @thebloggerblogger and I’m a 25 year old town planning postgrad and advertising freelancer in Manchester. In my blog I try to follow other blogger’s tutorials, and also help promote others blogs by RT’ing posts.
Reasons why Olivia is my hero; Olivia is a stunning person inside and out. The fact she helps other bloggers grow is why she’s a ‘Community Champion’. Her selfless attitude lets others know she’s there to support them and for someone to do this is an inspiration in my eyes. Olivia, you’re helping so many people grow and you have a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything you do and know that behind the screen, there’s someone smiling at your acts of kindness.
Each one of individuals have been doing amazing things for some time now, and each one were shocked when I messaged them letting them know they were being recognised.
It just shows that sometimes people don’t know how amazing they are and how letting them know they are in our eyes can have a big impact.
This is only the start of recognition ideas I have, and I’m blessed that these 5 incredible people are the first to be involved.
Week 2 is back next Friday with 5 more incredible individuals being recognised for their selfless acts in the blogging world.
In the meantime, why don’t you head over to the blogs of those recognised today and see for yourself the incredible work they’re doing.
*All 5 of today’s ‘Community Champions’ wrote their pieces in their own words and pictures were supplied by them.
