The shit-stirrer bloggers

There are some people out there, who are just out to cause a stir. People that may appear in your everyday life, past, present or future, and the same happens in the blogging world.  Some bloggers like to stir the shit pot.

The shit pot, that’ll make someone feel bad for either being themselves, for having an opinion, or for just ridiculing someone for ridiculous reasons. These shit-stirrers are attention seeking bullies.

When I spoke the other day, we got into a discussion about the negative side of social media and how trolls can impact the experience for others sharing their life stories.

As bloggers, we share our stories online for the world to see, hoping that someone can relate to the content. When someone doesn’t, do they REALLY need to tell you? Constructive feedback is great when it allows us to identify what those reading our content want, but quite literally calling someone out is a BIG FAT NO-NO!

Why are we even calling someone out? Do we wake up in the morning, get out of bed and want to instantly cause misery to someone’s day? That’s what shit-stirrers are doing!

“Hey, that tweet of yours…I don’t like it! I don’t agree with it, so here’s my opinion.”

I love a debate from time to time, but what happened to giving people equal rights to have an opinion, to have a joyful day and to enjoy what they do.

I say this, but somethings do need to be spoken about. Somethings that are not the easiest topics to talk about, but that’s not shit-stirrers, that’s a creative discussion with the end result influencing change.

The only influencing shit-stirrers are doing is influencing others that they’re a shit-stirrer. Having a bad reputation can bring you views, and that’s why I believe some bloggers want to cause a stir. I know, I said it! I believe some bloggers are out there quite simply to be in the limelight. They’re happy to say something insane and to start an argument for the limelight to be on them.

I’ve been on the other side of this. I’ve had bloggers, earlier on in my blogging journey, ridicule me for what I do for others and my opinions. Those people can now kiss my ass and can understand that your shit-stirring was much appreciated.

It was much appreciated, as just like I done with the bullies, my suicidal story and every other piece of shit in my past, I’ve used it to influence the future.

Shit-stirrers think they win, when they receive a message back, but here’s a blog post I recommend you print off and use it for toilet paper. That’s my message back!

  1. This was such a great post and something I needed to read, as it’s transferable to a situation I’ve recently found myself in. I’m all for healthy debate, but having a go at someone for their views and opinions is just plain wrong.

You are doing great things and I’m so glad you carried on despite the haters. Xx

      1. I am, thank you! I’ve head so much support from everyone, I really am very lucky. I think the person involved was looking for a punching bag and just happened to settle on me. Xx
