Community Champions Week 8

Week in, week out, I love writing up these posts. I love how each week 5 bloggers unexpectedly receive a message from me, letting them know of my wish to feature them.

The community is amazing for support, and 2 months in (officially), I hope each person featured (all 40 bloggers over the 8 weeks) have loved being part of the series.

It’s time to introduce this week’s bloggers to you and why they’re amazing in their own rights.

Hi i’m Luke, a visually impaired male blogger and YouTuber, who rambles about what he can’t see all over the internet. I started my blog back in 2014 as a way to share my thoughts about living with a visual impairment, but it quickly grew into a place where I talk about beauty, food, lifestyle, fashion, and so much more.

Rather than concentrating on what something may look like, I try to focus on what people might not see, like something’s smell, sound, taste, and even how something feels.

Reasons why Luke is my hero: Many people won’t know this, but my best friend lives with a visual impairment. Luke to me is the definition of a blogger. I love people who are using their personal stories to help others, and Luke hasn’t only helped others in the community, he’s helped me. Luke has constantly showed his support for me and John’s Road to Volunteering and it’s about time this guy is recognised for being bloody awesome!

Hi, my name is Louise and I blog at My blog is being Out and About, where I go, what I do, what I eat. I love my food and can’t spell for toffee! I enjoy meeting fellow bloggers especially when they are lovely and chatty like John.

Reasons why Louise is my hero: Louise and I first met at #BlogConLDN, even though we had been talking for a while before. I don’t know what it was, but when we met, it was like we had known each other for ages, hung out loads of times, as Louise…you’re a breath of fresh air! Your warm personality, your glow and your laugh (appreciate you giggling at my bald jokes) is undeniably stunning and it’s a representation of the incredible person you are!

I’m Lauren, 27. Last year I spent time living and working in Spain. In my spare time I started writing about my experiences with mental health issues and began collaborating with the mental health organisation, Time to Change. Since then I’ve found blogging incredibly therapeutic and even if I’m just helping one person, then I know I’ve done what I set out to do. Next week I begin work as North West Regional Coordinator, campaigning on behalf of Time to Change and I can’t wait to get started.

Reasons why Lauren is my hero: Lauren is an inspirational woman using her personal story to help others not only in her job, but also her blog. Lauren and I haven’t been in touch for long, but I wanted to say thank you to her. I’m sure we can all agree how stunning Lauren is, and she’s stunning on the inside too! For anyone to share their personal story is always a winner in my books and listening to her speak about mental health always gives me extra motivation to tell my MH story more. Lauren, I want to give you a big hug, say a massive thanks for the smile you bring to my face.

I´m a 20-year-old Psychology student and blogger from Germany. Following Lisa has become a safe space for me over the years where I can talk openly about whatever is relevant in my life. Currently, it´s featuring a lot of lifestyle including mental health and book/film reviews. I try to throw in the odd beauty and fashion post as well. I´ve stuck with blogging for over 3 years because I love having a place to share my thoughts and stories and because I love this amazing community! That´s why you´ll most likely find me taking part in Twitter chats every night.

Reasons why Lisa is my hero: Lisa and I’s friendship is an example of how amazing the blogging world is for connecting you with others around the world. When Lisa appears in my notifications, I know she’s got my back. Let me rephrase that….Lisa always has my back! When you have a friend like Lisa, you know you can be yourself without feeling judged, and Lisa, thank you. Thank you for all of your support and for being such an amazing person.

I’m Em, from and I blog about pretty much everything! I’m also a designer, currently running an Etsy store to provide affordable design solutions to the blogging community and small businesses. I’m always down to help, listen and talk to anyone who needs me. I’ve not even been blogging for a year yet, and I’ve already received overwhelming support from the community and made some amazing new friends. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

Reasons why Em is my hero: Em, Em, Em…I don’t think there’s a word that can describe how amazing I think you are. Your support for others has never gone unnoticed, as you’re one of the sweetest people I know and the blogging world is so bloody luck to have you part of it. If there were more Em’s in the world, the world would be a better place, but you’re one of a kind and I think it’s best that way! Keep being your incredible self Em!

All of this week’s featured bloggers were all shocked to know I see them as a ‘Community Champion’, but I’m sure their description matches why I think they’re amazing.

‘Community Champions’ is back next week at the same time, with 5 more amazing bloggers.
