My love for blogging started a few years ago. I couldn’t stop reading others stories, travel tips and life advice. In fact, during my second year of university my housemates and I attempted to start a blog all about two of our favourite things; cupcakes and cocktails. It was very fun and a great distraction from deadlines and exam stress. Since then it has always played on my mind how much I would love to have my own tiny corner of the inter-web. So a little over a year ago that I took the plunge and started my own blog; Emma’s Off Again.
There was no argument that my blog could only be about one topic; TRAVEL!
I do have to give credit to my Dad for this adventurous passion. Now he has always been full of wacky ideas however this was his best one yet. It was 3 years ago that he suggested my cousin Amy (she is over on http://www.bunkbedsforcats.com/) and I took a spontaneous Interrailing trip together, roll on one of the best months of my life! This is where my itchy feet really started.
From then on its been one trip after the other and I am now starting to use my blog to document this broad range of experiences. So far I’ve climbing Kilimanjaro, had a luxurious stay in Cancun, volunteered in Uganda with the amazing charity East African Playgrounds (LINK), explored my university city of Portsmouth and Amtrak-ed across the USA.
Being a newbie to blogging has really only been a joy. The community surrounding blogging is so friendly and inviting. I feel that everyone supports each other and we all have a space to share our lives; thoughts, feelings, opinions the highs and the lows. There are no limits and everyone is celebrated for being themselves. My next aim to immerse myself fully into the blogging community but in the real world by going to an event. I would love to put a face to those friendly Twitter names!
My future plan? Keep travelling far and wide, there is still so much of the world to see and I can’t wait to document and share it online. I consider my blog to be an ‘online scrapbook’ and I can’t wait to help it blossom. Of course I would love to work with brands but for now I am enjoying my little corner of the interweb:
